Navigation components help users by providing actions to:

  1. Get from one place to another; and
  2. Figure out where they are currently

Considerations and cautions

  • Digital spaces can be disorienting because there is no sense of scale, direction and location. Help users find what they need by showing them the connection between where they are and what they're looking for.
  • Users who can't figure out what to do are likely to leave and find a more user-friendly alternative.
