Calgary Transit

Calgarians were asked to help choose the design of the front of Calgary Transit’s new CTrain cars by voting on three options. The winning design was “The Mask” which represents individuality, reliability, style and protection — a fitting design to represent Calgary.

Mask CTrains feature a corporate red (Pantone 186) strip on the top of each car. The Calgary Transit Visual Identifier is placed on a white shape with a curved end at the front section of the top red strip (just behind the driver’s cab window). This white wave shape ties in visually with the familiar larger wave graphics that are present on the side of Calgary’s new CTrains. The sleek wave graphics symbolize quick and fluid motion.

The Calgary Transit web address (URL) is positioned to the right or left of the top white wave graphic. The URL is centered above the first series of doors on each end of the train and is rendered using Myriad Bold font.

New editions in the Calgary Transit bus fleet feature a corporate red (Pantone 186) strip on the top of each vehicle. Calgary Transit Access provides over one million trips annually to nearly 15,000 Calgarians that cannot use Calgary Transit services due to a disability.

The Calgary Transit Access Visual Identifier is placed at the mid-center of the shuttle bus under the first passenger window and to the left of the entry door. The words “Calgary Transit Access” appear at the back of the bus in Myriad Semibold in corporate grey (Pantone 7540). Sponsors names appear beneath the Calgary Transit Access typography, in Myriad font and the corporate red (Pantone 186).
